Healthcare professionals in San Francisco face a real problem: staying current on American Heart Association training while working demanding schedules. Shifts at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay, Kaiser Permanente San Francisco, and Chinese Hospital don’t leave much room for all-day classroom sessions.
Self-Guided Learning™ courses solve that problem. Safety Training Seminars, located at 1485 Bayshore Blvd, Suite 377 in San Francisco’s Bayshore district, offers American Heart Association® BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses using this flexible, self-directed model—so you complete training on your schedule, not someone else’s.
Here’s exactly how it works.
Self-Guided Learning™ courses combine two components:
Learners complete both components independently. Upon successful completion, you receive an American Heart Association Course Completion eCard for BLS, ACLS, or PALS. That eCard meets employer and hospital requirements nationwide and is valid for two years.
Safety Training Seminars offers this format for three American Heart Association courses:
No fixed class times. No waiting for a group to finish. Just structured, AHA-aligned training built around your availability.
The online portion uses True Adaptive™ learning powered by Area9 Lyceum. This technology continuously assesses your existing knowledge and adjusts the content path in real time.
Here’s what that means practically:
You can access the course from a desktop, laptop, or tablet—at home, between shifts, or anywhere with an internet connection. The course automatically saves your progress, so you can pause and return without starting over.
This personalized learning pathway makes the online portion more efficient than static video modules or traditional classroom lectures.
After completing the online learning activity, you schedule your hands-on skills session at the CPR Verification Station™ learning center at Safety Training Seminars Bayshore.
Skills are completed independently. There is no instructor present during the session. Instead, the CPR Verification Station learning center provides:
The system measures compression depth, rate, recoil, ventilation volume, and timing. You receive immediate feedback and can repeat the required skills activities as many times as needed to achieve a passing score.
This approach eliminates the variability of instructor-led evaluations. Every learner gets assessed against the same AHA-defined standards.
Safety Training Seminars operates the CPR Verification Station learning center at:

The Bayshore location sits a short drive from major San Francisco hospitals:
The location also serves healthcare workers and students commuting from Daly City, Brisbane, and South San Francisco via Caltrain (Bayshore Station is nearby) or BART (Balboa Park or Glen Park, then Muni to Bayshore Blvd). Onsite parking is available at the Bayshore Business Center.
With over 70 locations across California, Safety Training Seminars also offers Self-Guided Learning course options at additional SF locations including Mission Bay, Mission District, Nob Hill, Parnassus/UCSF, Sunset, and Telegraph Hill.
Self-Guided Learning™ courses work best for:
If your hospital, clinic, or employer requires an AHA BLS, ACLS, or PALS Provider eCard, Self-Guided Learning courses fulfill that requirement.
Safety Training Seminars is an authorized American Heart Association Training Center (#20784). That means every course follows the latest AHA 2025 guidelines and every eCard is accepted by hospitals, clinics, and employers nationwide.
A few reasons SF Bay Area healthcare professionals choose this location:
Getting your AHA Course Completion eCard through Self-Guided Learning takes five steps:
Total time from start to eCard: a few hours, spread across your own schedule.
Self-Guided Learning™ courses give SF Bay Area healthcare professionals a practical way to meet AHA training requirements without rearranging their work or family schedules. You complete the online portion on your terms, then walk into the Bayshore CPR Verification Station learning center to verify your skills independently—and leave the same day with your American Heart Association Course Completion eCard.

Loved how easy this was. I was so worried I’d have to go spend a full day in a class but this training let me do the work at home (takes about an hour or so) and maybe 20-30 minutes in person doing the skills portion. Highly recommend this route.Posted on Liz KirbyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great experience!
